Employment Opportunity: Parish Administrator
St. Augustine’s is a lively and growing church in Wilmette. We seek a part-time parish administrator to assist staff, leadership, and members in their ministries by coordinating and maintaining the infrastructure that helps us to live out the work that God gives us to do.
Responsibilities include: offering a welcoming presence in the parish office; preparing the weekly worship bulletin, electronic newsletter, special and seasonal mailings, and other communications; maintaining the church database, calendar, website, and liturgical volunteer schedule; providing administrative support to the rector, staff, and leadership; coordinating building use, routine maintenance, and inspections; purchasing supplies and maintaining office equipment.
This position requires technological proficiency, curiosity, and a willingness to learn more. The administrator will need to work with capacity in Microsoft Word, and to know or be prepared to learn to use our database, communications, web, and scheduling software. The administrator will need to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines, and must have the ability to work independently with grace and flexibility, responding to urgent tasks as they arise. Given the need for clear boundaries and discretion, we seek candidates for this position who are not members of St. Augustine’s Church.
