Plant Sale
What is the Plant Sale?
St. Augustine's Plant Sale was started in 1977 by a group of stalwart parishioners who helped to build community within the congregation while providing a way to raise funds for parish programs. The Plant Sale has continued uninterrupted over the last 35 years and continues to be a community building event for the parish. It has become a well-known event in the village, and many loyal customers from outside St. Augustine's Church continue to support it.

Frequently Asked Questions:
What are you raising funds for?
The money raised helps support St. Augustine's and its outreach ministries. Outreach funds help the hungry and homeless in our community and around the world.
Is there tax on the plants?
No. Because the Church is a tax-exempt organization under Illinois law, and sales are not taxed.
What type of plants do you have?
We have potted annuals and perennials, hanging baskets, annual flats, vegetables, herbs and tomatoes. Many of our perennials are native varieties. Native plants are well-suited to our soil and climate, are drought-tolerant, and have the additional benefit of providing a food source to bees, bullerflies and birds. Where do you get the plants?
We source our plants from local and regional growers. In doing so, we hope to do our small part to support the local economy, and to minimize the environmental impact of our selling activities.
Can I still pre-order plants?
We are no longer accepting pre-orders. Our friendly staff will be happy to help you at the sale with selection, checkout and loading.
