Holy Week & Easter 2026 at St. Augustine’s
Sunday, March 29—Palm Sunday
9:30 a.m.: Palm Sunday Eucharist with palm procession and Passion gospel
The service will be held in the Sanctuary and on Zoom*
Tuesday, March 31
8:30 p.m.: Our regular Tuesday evening compline service is held on Zoom*
Thursday, April 2—Maundy Thursday
7:00 p.m.: Maundy Thursday service with agape snacks, foot washing, Eucharist, and procession to the garden
This service begins in Puhlman Hall with a simple Middle-Eastern spread.
Friday, April 3—Good Friday
8:00 a.m.: Good Friday service including the Passion gospel and Solemn Collects
The service will be held in the Chapel and on Zoom*
3:00 p.m.: Holy Week Journey with Jesus—a service for all God’s children
Co-hosted with leaders from Christ Church Winnetka and St. Elisabeth’s Glencoe, this service takes place here at St. A’s. This interactive service explores the major stories of Holy Week—the Last Supper, the garden, cross, and tomb—with an eye towards engaging our younger disciples.
Saturday, April 4—Easter Vigil
7:00 p.m.: The Great Vigil of Easter (Christ Church, 784 Sheridan Rd, Winnetka)
Co-hosted with Christ Church Winnetka and St. Elisabeth’s Glencoe; clergy, choir, and lectors from all three churches will share in worship leadership roles. This service, held at Christ Church, begins with the kindling of the paschal flame outside, and continues in the sanctuary with salvation storytelling, baptisms, and the first Eucharist of Easter.
A champagne reception follows the service.
Sunday, April 5—Easter Sunday Celebration
9:30 a.m.: Festive Easter Eucharist, with guest musicians
The service will be held in the Sanctuary and on Zoom*
10:45 a.m.: Festive Coffee Hour Reception (in Puhlman Hall) and Easter Egg Hunt for children, starting in the Courtyard
April 6-10: St. Augustine’s Parish Offices will be closed the week after Easter
